Chairman Craig Kvamme highlighted several projects and key improvements completed in the past year, including:
- Installation of a new asphalt section on upper Tesoro Trail to prevent water pooling.
- Creation of a drainage swale by volunteers to direct excess water into culvert.
- Advancement of the Berm Rehabilitation Program, with 700 feet of boulevard finished on the north side of Two Rivers Drive.
- Construction of a platform near the clubhouse by volunteers for hosting bands, speakers, or events.
- Removal of hazardous trees and unhealthy plants, with replacements planned as necessary.
- Completion of the project to remove poplar trees from common areas, with a few remaining for removal in 2024.
- Efficient snow removal from paths and clubhouse parking lot.
- For 2024, Franz Witte will continue as the landscape contractor, and Aquatechnix will remain the pond contractor. Both were chosen for their familiarity with Two Rivers, their strong performance and cost management.
The committee plans for 2024 include:
- Maintaining high performance with Franz Witte and applying lessons from the previous season.
- Continuing berm rehabilitation along Two Rivers Drive and starting new projects along Mace Road.
- Complete shoreline rehabilitation on Pond 2 (across from clubhouse entrance) and Pond 17 (adjacent Shores), including a waterfall.
- Rehabilitation of the four corners at Island Woods Drive / Island Glenn and Island Wood Drive / Grand Island.
- Start the removal of legacy tree stumps and gain control of the spread of cattails in the ponds. Both are multi-year projects.
- Remove hazardous limbs over the pool pump-house, replace and map old irrigation valves, and address emergent needs promptly.
Volunteers are welcome for non-contractual tasks. Interested individuals can reach out to the landscape committee chairman, Craig Kvamme, at ck@tworivershoa.org for more information or to offer assistance.
